North Carolina in the 1800s

North Carolina State Senate

1864-1865

This General Assembly met from November 21st to December 23rd in 1864. A Special Session was called from January 17th to February 7th in 1865.

Due to the Civil War, the typical reapportionment of the NC Legislature due to the 1860 US Census did not take place, and the two branches of the state government continued with the same apportionment as based on the 1850 US Census.
