Bertie County, NC

Evolution of Boundaries - With Known Towns & Villages

Bertie County decreased in size in 1729 when Tyrrell County was created; in 1741 when Edgecombe County and Northampton County were created; and again in 1907 when it transferred land to Hertford County.

Its population grew from 12,606 in 1790 to 21,282 in 2010.
