An Act Regulating the Meetings of County Boards of Education.

1891 Public Laws: Chapter 460

Public Laws of the State of North Carolina Passed in 1891 - Page 517.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. That section two thousand five hundred and forty-seven of The Code, as amended by the laws of one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, is hereby amended to read as follows: "The county board of education of each county shall hold three regular meetings every year, namely, on the first Mondays of January, July and September, at each of which meetings, if the board find it necessary in order to enable them to dispose of the business before them, they may be in session for two days. Meetings may be held at other times at the call of the chairman upon the request of one member of the board, but in no case shall the board receive compensation out of the public funds for more than four days in any one year."

Sec. 2. That all laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. That this Act shall be in force from and after its ratification.
