* Alexander Martin was elected Speaker of the Senate. John Haywood was appointed Clerk. Sherwood Haywood was appointed Assistant.

On April 22, 1782, Alexander Martin was elected Governor. A new election was ordered for Guilford County to elect a new Senator for May 20-21.

** Richard Caswell was then elected as the new Speaker of the Senate.
