| John Hogan was born c.1745, the son of Thomas
Hogan and Elizabeth ? in Prince William County, VA, and died
in April of 1810 in Montgomery County, TN. By 1770, he had married
Mary Lloyd, and they had six known children. By 1790, John Hogan
had acquired 1,938 acres in Orange County, of which he donated
200 acres for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He was elected as a State Senator from Orange County in 1779.
After his wife's death, he moved to what became Montgomery County,
Tennessee. |
