* Note - there were two Captains in North Carolina named William Pickett. This man served in the 2nd Battalion of Volunteers in late 1776 and early 1777. His home county is currently not known, but he was probably from Anson County.

The second Captain was in the NC Continental Line and was promoted to Major and Lt. Colonel in the Anson County Regiment of Militia.
