The Raleigh & Cape Fear Railroad was incorporated in 1898, with John A. Mills as President and General Manager, T. B. Upchurch as Vice President, and F. T. Ricks as Auditor. The line from Caraleigh to Sippahaw was opened in 1900.
aka Raleigh & Cape Fear Railway. Have seen both, not sure which one is actually correct. NC Corporation Commission Report of 1900 has the name as Raleigh & Cape Fear Railway. This railroad was not chartered via the Legislative Branch.
