South Carolina Delegates to the U.S. Congress

36th U.S. Congress (1859-1861)

The 36th U.S. Congress met in two sessions: 1) December 5, 1859 to June 26, 1860; and 2) December 3, 1860 to March 4, 1861. A Special Session was convened from March 4th to March 10th in 1859. Another Special Session was convened from June 26th to June 28th in 1860.

South Carolina seceded from the Union on December 20, 1860. All delegates to the U.S. Congress walked out on December 21, 1860 and they returned home.
