The 47th U.S. Congress met in two sessions: 1) December 5, 1881 to August 8, 1882; and 2) December 4, 1882 to March 3, 1883. A Special Sessionw as convened from March 4th to May 20th in 1881. Another Special Session was convened from October 10th to October 29th in 1881.
