*Per the first SC Constitution of 1776, the Executive was called President.
**On March 7, 1778, Rawlins Lowndes was elected the second President of South Carolina. On March 19, 1778, the second South Carolina State Constitution was ratified, and the office of President was changed to Governor. So, Lowndes was the 2nd President for twelve (12) days, and then the first State Governor.
