Col. Elijah Clarke and his Georgia Patriots defeated a detachment
of the Kings Rangers under the command of Lt. Col Thomas Brown. McCrady
records a skirmish between men under Georgia Patriot Col. Elijah
Clarke and men under Lt. Col. Thomas Brown, in which Clarke is
known to have lost six killed and an unknown number wounded,
while Lt. Col. Brown's losses are not known. Possibly Lt. Col.
Brown made a foray against his besiegers, or else went to the
aid of a relief or supply column (or river flotilla) on its way
to Augusta.
