Cherokee Indians, along with small parties of Loyalists, began on July 1 a series of raids along the backcountry killing and burning at will. The raids were to have been done in conjunction with the British attack on Charleston in an effort to split patriot defense forces. The location(s) of this attack are currently not known by the Author.
