Cherokee Indians, along with small parties of Loyalists, began, on July 1st, a series of raids along the backcountry killing and burning at will. The raids were to have been done in conjunction with the British attack on Charlestown in an effort to split Patriot defense forces. The location(s) of this attack are currently not known by this Author.
