Col. Joseph Hayes, Capt. Thomas Blassingame, and fifty militiamen attacked a force of twenty-five of the Dutch Fork Loyalist Militia, under the command of Maj. Moses Buffington, who had been posted at Col. Dugan's place on Indian Creek, four miles south of the Enoree River.

Maj. Buffington and three of his men were wounded and seven or eight were captured.
