Patriot militia under the command of Col. William Bratton dispersed a meeting of Loyalists at the meetinghouse northwest of Winnsboro.


One account claims this event happened on May 26th, while another claims sometime in early June 1780.

Capt. John McClure joined forces with Col. Richard Winn and Col. William Bratton and they attacked Col. Charles Coleman's Royalists & Tories in a strong block house adjacent to the church. They were also able to recover much plunder plus impressed horses and servants.
