Few details remain of this fight, but it is said to have been bloody. Capt. Smith was hit by seven musket shots but he refused to strike his colors. The battle ended when the Patriots boarded the privateer and defeated the Loyalist crew. The General Moultrie brought her prize back to Charleston.
