![]() aka Haddrell's Point. The British naval vessels blocking Charleston had increased in number to six ships by this time. The force had run short of supplies and was attempting to put to sea when they came under attack by the SC 1st Regiment on Sullivan's Island who had taken control of a small vessel in order to attack the ships. The British ships easily forced this small group of Patriots back to Sullivan's Island with little loss of life. The British fleet finally left Charlestown on January 6th and headed south to Georgia. |
