| In June of 1775, the South Carolina Provincial Congress authorized three regiments of Provincial Troops to be created all across the Province. The following officers were elected within the Orangeburgh District: Lt. Col. William Thomson, Capt. John Caldwell, Capt. Robert Goodwin, Capt. Edwin Richardson, Lt. John Lewis Peyer Imhoff, Lt. Charles Heatly. |
