Found on quite a few maps of South Carolina as early as 1741 and as late as 1782, a village named Moretown can be found on the coast south of Charleston, and southeast of Willton. Although the maps are not very detailed, it looks like Moretown was situated on the southern end of Wadmalaw Island.

Nothing else is currently known of this early town/village of South Carolina.
