Atlantic Coast Line System

In the 1880s, three profitable railroads began to assemble their affiliates and/or lines they had leased for marketing purposes. As of 1890, these new systems were not formally incorporated, except for the Richmond & Danville Railroad, but they were essentially a reality in the marketing materials already in circulation.
