President and Governor Edward Hyde's Executive Council

No records of his Executive Councils of 1710 and early 1711 have been found to date.
On June 29, 1711, the President and Executive Council sent a letter to the governor of Virginia. This letter was signed:

On August 22, 1711, the President and Executive Council sent a letter to the Secretary of State in London. It was signed:

On Tuesday, March 11th and on Wednesday, March 12th of 1711/12, the Executive Council met at the home of Capt. John Hecklefield in Little River in Perquimans Precinct. Those in attendance were:
- Edward Hyde - President
- Christoph de Graffenreid
- Nathaniel Chevin
- James Boyd

Richard Sanderson is a member of the Executive Council but he does not want to travel to these meetings due to the ongoing Tuscarora War. This group debated whether to replace him if he would lay down his deputation.

On Friday, May 9th and Saturday, May 10th of 1712, the Executive Council met at the home of Edward Hyde in Chowan Precinct. Those present were:
- Edward Hyde - President
- Thomas Pollock
- Nathaniel Chevin
- Thomas Boyd
- William Reed

Pollock, Chevin, Boyd, and Reed were identified as Lords Proprietors' Deputies and members of the Executive Council.

Edward Hyde presented his recently-received commission as the new Governor of all of North Carolina, then took the oaths of office and his seat on this Executive Council. He then issued a proclamation that all existing commissions - civil and military - were to remain in effect until further notice. He also presented the Queen's (Anne) approval of him being the first full governor over all of North Carolina.

Thomas Pollock presented his Deputation under John Carteret, 2nd Baronet Carteret, then took the oaths of office as a member of this Council.

Lt. Col. Thomas Boyd presented his Deputation under Sir Fulwar Skipwith, the Guardian of the minor William Craven, 3rd Baron Craven, then took the oaths of office as a member of this Council.

Tobias Knight presented his commission as Secretary and another commission as Collector of Customs in the Currituck Precinct, then took the oaths of office.

Gov. Edward Hyde then issued an order for the present General Assembly to dissolve.

The Executive Council ordered that a Commander and 30 men are to be constantly kept at Hyde Fort at Core Town until further notice. And, another 10 men to be kept at the garrison at Mr. Reading's home on Pamtecough.

On June 2 (Monday), June 3 (Tuesday), and June 5 (Thursday) of 1712, the Executive Council met at the home of Gov. Edward Hyde in Chowan Precinct. Those present were:

- Thomas Boyd
- Nathaniel Chevin
- William Reed
- Thomas Peterson

Pollock, Boyd, Chevin, Reed, and Peterson were identified as Lords Proprietors' Deputies and members of the Executive Council.

This Council appointed James Foster to go to South Carolina to request more assistance in the Tuscarora War.

On July 4 (Thursday), July 5 (Friday), and July 6 (Saturday) of 1712, the Executive Council met at the home of Capt. John Hecklefield in Little River in Perquimans Precinct. Those in attendance were:

- Nathaniel Chevin
- William Reed
- Thomas Peterson

Pollock, Chevin, Reed, and Peterson were identified as Lords Proprietors' Deputies and members of the Executive Council.

This Executive Council appointed Tobias Knight as the de facto Deputy for John Danson (one of the Lords Proprietors) until Danson decides otherwise. Knight took the oaths of office and his seat on this Executive Council.

On July 23, 1712, Elizabeth Blake, guardian and mother of Joseph Blake, Jr, one of the Lords Proprietors, appointed Christopher Gale as his Deputy for the province of North Carolina.

On July 31, 1712, the Executive Council met at the home of Capt. Thomas Lee in Chowan Precinct. Those in attendance were:

- Thomas Pollock
- Nathaniel Chevin
- Thomas Peterson
- Tobias Knight

Pollock, Chevin, Peterson, and Knight were identified as Lords Proprietors' Deputies and members of the Executive Council.

This Executive Council pardoned several men involved in the recent "Cary's Rebellion" except for Thomas Cary, Emmanuel Lowe, John Porter, Edmund Porter, and William Tillet.

On August 9, 1712, the Executive Council met at the home of Gov. Edward Hyde in Chowan Precinct. Those in attendance were:
- Gov. Edward Hyde
- Thomas Pollock
- Thomas Peterson
- Tobias Knight

Pollock, Peterson, and Knight were identified as Lords Proprietors' Deputies and members of the Executive Council.

Thomas Pollock was also identified as a Major General of the Militia and he was authorized by this Executive Council to negotiate with a Capt. William Rowlason, master of the sloop Returne, which belonged to Baron Christoph de Graffenreid, and to use the said sloop for the province's service in transporting men to and from South Carolina.

Sadly, Gov. Edward Hyde died at his home on September 8, 1712 of Yellow Fever.
