Sir Nathaniel Johnson was commissioned on June 18, 1702 as the next governor of Carolina, but he did not arrive in Charles Town and take the oath of office until March of 1703. He was governor until November 26, 1709. | |||
On December 9, 1708, the Lords Proprietors commissioned Edward Tynte as the next governor of Carolina, but he did not arrive and take the oath of office until November 26, 1709. | |||
On December 11, 1708, the Lords Proprietors appointed William Sanders as Attorney General of Charles Town. On the same date, the Lords Proprietors commissioned Robert Gibbes as Chief Justice, and soon thereafter as Advocate General. On the same date, the Lords Proprietors appointed Nathanial Sale as Receiver General. On the same date, the Lords Proprietors commissioned Edward Hyrne as Naval Officer in Charles Town. | |||
On March 17, 1708/9, Henry Somerset, 2nd Duke of Beaufort appointed Fortescue Turberville as his Deputy. | |||
On March 24, 1708/9, the Lords Proprietors made Abel Ketelby a Landgrave. | |||
On April 9, 1709, the Lords Proprietors sent
a letter with the following information therein: - Col. Robert Gibbes is Chief Justice - William Sanders is Attorney General - Henry Wigginton is Secretary - Nathaniel Sale is Receiver General - Edward Hyrne is Naval Officer |
