An Act Supplemental to An Act, Passed this Session of the General Assembly, Entitled "An Act Incorporating Morganton Academy."

Acts Passed by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina 1823 - Page 87.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Colonel William W. Erwin, Colonel Andrew Baird, Jason Carson, Esquire, the Reverend Robert Johnson Miller, and the Reverend Chancy Edily, be, and they are hereby declared to be incorporated as part of the trustees of Morganton Academy, in addition to tbe trustees appointed by said Act of incorporation, with all the powers and authority that the trustees appointed by said Act are vested with, and that the said trustees of said academy have power and authority to appropriate the balance of the money arising from the sale of the town commons (heretofore granted to said academy by Act of Assembly) to the purpose of erecting on the academy lot a building for the accomodation of a tutor and tutoress, and for keeping of such globes, maps and philosophical apparatus, as they have or may herefter acquire; and that this Act shall be in force from its ratification.
