On April 26, 1783, the NC General Assembly created Greene County and its regiment of Militia out of part of Washington County and its regiment of Militia. All officers were appointed and commissioned by the Governor, however, very few are known to this Author currently. The Greene County Regiment was active until the end of the war. Since it had been created so late, none of its units participated in any known battles or skirmishes during the American Revolution. |
