This small general aviation airport was evidently established at some point between 1963-65. The April 1965 Charlotte Sectional Chart depicted Lincoln Airport as having a 2,700' unpaved runway. The 1968 Flight Guide depicted Lincoln Airport as having a single 2,700' unpaved Runway 16/34. A small ramp was depicted on the east side of the runway with a single building. The Lincoln Airport was apparently closed (for reasons unknown) at some point between 1980-82, as it was no longer listed among active airfields in the 1982 AOPA Airports USA Directory nor depicted on the August 1988 Charlotte Sectional Chart.
