1) Albemarle Airport	Albemarle	Defunct	-	1947	1970	On the southeast side of the town of Albemarle, the airport had its grand opening on June 4, 1947. The owners of the field included Mr. Hazel Smith, J.C. Holbrook, Chad Efird, and Silas P. Dennis. The larger Stanly County Airport opened in 1979 to the northeast of Albemarle, at which point Albemarle Airport presumably was closed.
2) Bear Creek Airport	Millingport, Mt. Pleasant	Private	NC79	1962	-	Per AirNav - activated 10/1962. Owned and operated by Arthur Raymond Moose.
3) Reed Mine Airport	Locust	Private	5NC3	2018	-	Per AirNav - activated 1/ 2018. Owned and operated by Christopher Logan.
4) Stanly County Air National Guard Station	Albemarle	Military	VUJ	1979	-	Stanly County Airport (see below) co-exists with this regional training site for the North Carolina Air National Guard. The 235th Air Traffic Control Squadron (235 ATCS) operates the control tower at the airport. Also located at the airport's Air National Guard Station are the 118th Air Support Operations Squadron (118 ASOS), 156th Weather Flight (156 WF) and the 263d Combat Communications Squadron (263 CCS). Runway 4R/22L was frequently used as an assault strip by the C-130s of the North Carolina Air National Guard's 145th Airlift Wing (145 AW) based in Charlotte; that unit is now transitioning to the C-17 Globemaster III.
5) Stanly County Airport	Albemarle	General Aviation	VUJ	1979	-	Per AirNav - activated 1/1979. Stanly County Airport Authority was created by an Act of the North Carolina General Assembly on May 21, 1971. It opened in early 1979.
