Joint Resolution to Authorize the City Board of School Commissioners of the City of Charleston to Raise Money for the Support of the City Schools.

Whereas the constitutional amendment relating to the school tax has caused an interval to occur between the time at which the city school tax has heretofore been and shall hereafter be collected, and during that interval no means are provided for the support of the city schools:

Be it resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now met and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That the said City Board is authorized to contract loans for money to support the said schools to an amount not exceeding one-half of the deficiency which may arise in conducting the said schools from the date of the last receipt of money from the City Treasurer up to the date at which the taxes for the current year shall be received from the County Treasurer, and the said loan shall then be paid from the said taxes.
