A Joint Resolution to Require the County Treasurer of Edgefield County to Pay Over to the County Treasurers of Saluda and Greenwood Counties Certain School Funds, and to Authorize the School Officers of Said Counties to Apportion and Check Out Same.

Whereas the County Treasurer for Edgefield County has in his possession six thousand and six hundred and 77-100 dollars, unexpended school funds belonging to the territory now constituting Edgefield County, Saluda County, and that portion of Edgefield County cut off to Greenwood County; and whereas the apportionment of said funds between Edgefield County and that section of Edgefield County cut off to Greenwood County of the one part, and Saluda County of the other part, has been made, and the amount due to Saluda County is two thousand six hundred and thirty-three and 23-100 dollars, and the amount due Greenwood County is seven hundred and sixty-two 43-100 dollars; now, therefore,

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, That the County Treasurer of Edgefield County be, and he is hereby, authorized and required to turn over and deliver to the County Treasurer of Saluda County the sum of two thousand and six hundred and thirty-three and 23-100 dollars, and the County Treasurer of Greenwood County the sum of six hundred and sixty-two 23-100 dollars, and their receipts for said funds shall be sufficient vouchers therefor, and the said County Treasurers of Saluda and Greenwood Counties be, and they are hereby, required to receive said sums of money, and hold the same as they hold other public funds for said counties.

Section 2. That the public school officers of said counties are hereby authorized to apportion and check out the school funds mentioned in Section 1 of this Joint Resolution to be paid over to the County Treasurers of said counties in the same manner that other public school funds are paid out: Provided, That the funds going to the County of Greenwood shall be apportioned among the schools located in that portion of Greenwood taken from Edgefield.

Section 3. The County Treasurer of Edgefield County is hereby required to turn over to the County Treasurers of Saluda County and Greenwood County any other funds justly due, or which may hereafter become justly due, the said Counties of Saluda and Greenwood, respectively.
