Second charter issued on December 24, 1889, with new incorporators named.

Construction did not start until 1900. Never made it to Lancaster, ran out of money.

Service to Pageland was discontinued many years before the entire road was finally abandoned in 1941.

*According to the 23rd Annual Report of the South Carolina Railroad Commissioners, dated June 30, 1901, the Chesterfield & Lancaster Railroad was operational with twenty (20) miles of track in service as of the date of the report - June 30, 1901.
