* 1878 - Acquired by the Port Royal & Augusta Railroad.
+ 1873 control went to the Georgia Railroad in May, and in November it failed. In bankruptcy until 1878.

Chartered in 1856, the Port Royal Railroad was completed from Port Royal, on the South Carolina Coast, to Augusta, GA in 1870. It soon came under the control of the Georgia Railroad, which had guaranteed its bonds and later acquired much of its stock.

It was sold in 1878 and renamed the Port Royal and Augusta Railroad.
