Moore's Creek Bridge

* Note - there were two different Captains named James Armstrong from Pitt County. This man was in the 2nd NC Regiment from its inception on 9/1/1775, and was later the Colonel/Commandant of the 8th NC Regiment, then the 4th NC Regiment.

The second Capt. James Armstrong from Pitt County was in the NC Minutemen and NC Militia from 1775 to 1781.

A third Capt. James Armstrong was from Rowan County.
